Looking for an affordable summer option for your family? Interesting in trying out Oakland LEARN without leaving your existing school?

Oakland LEARN offers two summer sessions: May 27th- June 28th and July 1st - August 2nd. You can flexibly select the hours that work for your family (between 8am and 6pm). Our summer programs offer the same experience as we offer year-round: kids set their own academic goals with the help of a teacher. There are classes in reading, writing, math, cooking, art, civics, science, storytelling, and anything else a parent offers to teach. Classes are optional; kids can choose to play in the playroom or outside instead. Kids usually choose to participate in lessons that are an appropriate challenge for them, and we provide daily updates on what academic work they end up doing. Most kids spend most of the day playing, but make awesome academic progress anyway.

Students can save up points (earned by doing work at an appropriate challenge level) for field trips to Oakland Fairyland, the Cal Academy of the Sciences, Chabot Space and Science Center, the Exploratorium, and others.

Each summer session costs $1500 (six hours) $1750 (seven hours), $2000 (eight hours), $2250 (nine hours), or $2500 (ten hours). Need-based financial aid is available; contact us.
